Beautiful Herceg Novi at the western entrance to the Bay of Kotor is a charming town with a great history and I found it very easy to while away the days wandering the old town and swimming in the sea. I was delighted to find that it’s also great for foodies, particularly if you’re keen on fresh fish and lovely views! I’ve put together a list of some of the best restaurants in Herceg Novi to help you plan where to eat during your trip!
Konoba Skver
A popular spot on the main promenade that you might not notice unless you’re looking for it. Go down the stairs from the main promenade and head to the right. There are some great tables overlooking the marina, perfect for great sunsets over the boats.
It is owned by a fisherman who brings in the fresh catch daily – it’s definitely one of the best restaurants in Herceg Novi for seafood. I particularly enjoyed the salted anchovies and they have a great wine selection including some from the nearby vineyard which is definitely worth trying.

La Terrazza
There are plenty of places in town serving up pizza and pasta but this is one of the best restaurants in Herceg Novi for Napoli-style pizzas. It has a great menu with other pasta options, a great lasagna, and aperitifs in a modern setting near the central square.

Tri Lipe Restaurant
I was drawn towards Tri Lipe by the amazing smells coming from the grill as I walked up the steps in the old town. There’s usually quite a big crowd eating the grilled meat sandwiches and burgers – big portions – at good prices. It’s a great option for a quick, local bite, popular with locals and tourists alike.
This famous Montenegrin grill is one of the most in demand restaurants in Herceg Novi. It’s half sit-down restaurant and half takeaway. If you don’t smell Tri Lipe you’ll certainly be able to spot it during your walk around the old town as it’s where lots of happy looking people sitting on the steps tucking into food!

Konoba Feral
Located right at the entrance to the old town this pretty spot serves mediterranean dishes, especially grilled seafood, with a lovely waterfront seating. It’s usually quite busy especially in the evening, but it’s a great place with friendly service. Highlights include the calamari and the fresh catch of the day is always popular.
It’s a family friendly spot and looks particularly lovely when the colourful flowers are in bloom creating some nice shade on the front seats.

Pub Got
Surrounded by palms and greenery and with great views towards the water, this pub has plenty of outdoor seating and serves cold local beer at great prices.
It has a selection of ales and lagers and is known for its friendly servers and live music nights.
Handily, it is located half way up the steep steps through the Old Town and if you’re visiting in summer I can almost guarantee you’ll want to stop for a refreshing pint here.

Bistro “Kod Špira”
Popular with locals and tourists, Kod Špira has some great risotto and pasta dishes, well priced beer and local wine.
It is located right on Belavista square, looking towards the church and it’s stunning when the sun starts to set and the orange glow peeks around the buildings.
If you’re not looking for a huge meal, it’s also one of the best restaurants in Herceg Novi to come and have an evening drink and a snack.
Belavista Restaurant
Directly in front of the stunning Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint. Michael Archangel, this is a lovely spot for an evening drink or meal. Lots of fish options and the grilled octopus is really popular.
There is plenty of outdoor seating and it’s worth waiting until the bells ring at the church as it’s so picturesque.

Café Bar Citadela
With unbeatable views of the fortress and the water, Café Bar Citadela is a gorgeous spot for a coffee or a beer. If you’re looking for place for sundowners, it has plenty of outdoor seating and some great cocktails at good prices!
